ASSIGNMENT NUMBER ONE
Complete three 8.5x11 advertisements
One ad can only be composed of triangles
One ad only composed of squares.
One ad only composed of circles.
All of these shapes can be at varying sizes but must be fundamentally the shape of a triangle but a triangle can be a skinny or fat as long as it has three sides. Same goes for the other shapes.
Text must be GillSans family.
These ads can be for any item. Must have copy / slogan.
Must use components of 8 principals of design. Do not have to have all the principals in single ad, but utilizing elements in design. If at a lost of how to get started go through your principals and see if you can make ad using only one element in design.
FINAL
Must be full bleed (so print on 11x17 and cut down to 8.5x11)
Must be black and white (you can print here on our printer...no cost:)
All three ads will be present and printed with your best ad under glass (quick frame 16x20 designated in syllabus)
Ad must be mounted on black background in the frame
500 word summary will be needed for this and sent electronically (more details on this to come)
Final date will be posted...for critique...must dress for critique

50 thumbnails for each ad
Text greeked / gibber...start thinking of slogans...best to start with thing that want to advertise for before you start thumbnailing...does not have to all be for one thing.
Make a thumbnail sheet to save yourself time...minimum of 9 boxes (portrait style on the page) must have these glued in sketchbook.
